Tiesto feat. Tegan and Sara- Feel it in my bones

So today I am going to mix music and make-up together for the sake of this blog. I want to talk about the Tiesto feat. Tegan and sara-I feel it in my bones video. This collaboration as been out since August and I have only recently found it, I know do I live in a cave or something.
First of all everyone knows that I love Tegan and Sara and I like dance music sometimes so this mix of the two is actually fantastic. The song itself it actually mixed very well but what else would you expect from Tiesto really.
I pulled some photos of the making of the video from Tegan and Sara's website, from a long time ago. So you guys could enjoy!:)

Secondly I wanted to talk about their make-up in the video, I absolutely love it. Tegan and Sara don't wear make-up that often and lets be honest, they don't really need to wear any. In the video however it looks great, I tried to find the make-up artist for this video shoot and I couldn't find anything about her/him. Probably because I am challenged technology wise and when I type something into google I just want it too be on the first page. I wanted to credit them but the best I can do is that you will be able to see their hand.

Boyfriend Blazer

I know that this has been a fashion trend for a long time now, but I love it so much so I am giving it the attention it deserves today. I feel that is looks good on many girls, you just have to add the right accessories.

Annette Pehrsson

I'm going to have another photography moment here, I have had a deviantart account for many years now and I love going on and looking at peoples view of the world. I have always been captivated by one photographer named Annette Pehrsson, she goes by popsongs on deviantart. There is something about her photography, very raw and breathtaking.

Alice and Wonderland

So apparently everyone has caught Alice and Wonderland fever and might I say its wonderful. The story itself has always been one of my favourites and I can't want to see Tim Burton's adaptation coming out on March 5th, 2010. When I first saw the trailer for the film I was dying in my seat, I would have loved to be apart of the make-up crew during this film; Mad hatter, Alice, Queen of hearts and the white queen are amazingly done.

Yesterday while I was at work I was reading a magazine and I caught my eye on the new limited edition palette made by urban decay which celebrates the new film coming out. It includes 16 eye shadows, two eyeliners and a travel primer potion. This is a lovely palette which shows Alice's journey through the mushroom forest. I wish that I could call it mine, but for $52 dollars American I sadly don't have the funds. I did some research on it and it has apparently sold out on Urban decay but if you want to get your little fingers on this palette you can go on a waiting list and they will tell you when they have more in stock.

OPI has also come on board the Alice and wonderland train with their new limited edition nail polishes. Including new colours such as Absolutely Alice, Mad as a Hatter, Off With Her Red! and Thanks So Muchness. I personally love the two red shades (Off with her red and thanks so muchness) and I wouldn't mind the Made as a hatter varying colour glitter on a special party occasion. I feel the Absolutely blue Alice shade however is targeting a younger audience.

My boyfriend recently just got the original mad hatter hat on his wrist tattooed and I felt that it was fitting to go into this blog!

So everyone come on the crazy journey with Alice and grab these fab finds!

Tegan and Sara

Went and saw Tegan and Sara live this week on Tuesday in Toronto at the Kool Haus. This is their first tour of Canada in two years even though they are Canadian, I am so glad that I had a chance to catch them this time around. They have always been one of my favourite bands and they did not disappoint at all, this concert was honestly one of the best I have ever been too. Their energy, funny commentary between songs and overall cute/humble auras totally made the performance wonderful.

Hearing Tegan say two 'thats what she said jokes', having her kick a drunk moron to the back, seeing Sara use a bra to wipe her nose and watering eyes after her chocking fit was definitely just a few highlights of the night and to cap it all off after Sara's chocking fit the audience singing 'Call it off' all together was amazing.

Tegan and Sara have also been doing something great during their tour, they have been giving all the money made from their poster sales to help in Haiti. Something that has impacted everyone greatly, such a sad thing. Every little bit helps however, so it was great seeing them also helping. You can also help by donating at Canada for Haiti.

If you haven't listened to Tegan and Sara's new album, Sainthood I suggest you do so and if you haven't seen a Tegan and Sara performance I suggest you do that too. They are very amazing, talented, down to earth ladies.

Accepted!

I hope that this photo depicts what I will be doing with my future because I got accepted into Complections, lets just say I am less then ecstatic.
This week has been amazing and fun. I can't wait for April 19th (when I start my first class) I have so much to do leading up to it though, I will be a very busy bunny!

Life is great right now:)

Complections

So I applied to cosmetic school today; Complections international academy of make-up artistry in Toronto!
I'm so excited about it, I hope everything goes well so that I can continue to do what I love perfessionally.
Here are some projects that the students at complections have done:

Also today I went out for a bit and found two wonderful books at a used book store about make-up and the industry:)
the first one is the biography of famous make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin. The book goes through his whole life and how his love for art grew and as did his love for cosmetics, the struggles he went through and the numerous celebrities and movies he has worked on. It seems very interesting and I'm excited to read it.
The other book I purchased it titled The Nylon book of beauty, it follows the decades of beauty and the wonderful women that paved the way for cosmetics, film and a stronger female portrayal. Showing this lovely women and then closer to the back of the book it goes through cosmetic artist taking their own view on this classic iconic looks, very amazing and beautiful.

Eye Catching

I was looking around deviantart today, seeing as I have an account and there are some very talented people on the site. Case in point I stumbled upon a great photographer that goes under the name `hakanphotography. His photography is utterly amazing, with a lovely mix of fashion, cosmetics and of course eye catching photography.

Plumeria flowers!

I've been doing a lot in the past couple of weeks, spending new years eve with my boyfriend, getting all of the paperwork ready so I can apply to cosmetic school and working at my job.
I have also been thinking about blogs. I know that sounds really lame doesn't it, but just the thought about them in general. They are suppose to be a spot where you can write whatever you feel like or whatever interests you. So then that got me thinking about my own blog and I decided to not write about cosmeticians, I value the work they have done and the path they have paved and I thought it would be a neat way to learn and educate myself and my readers (even though I don't really have any haha)
I'm changing the way I write my blog however so it holds things that I find interesting or love about cosmetics with a dash of things from my own life.

So to start this blog off the 'me' way I'm going to share a permanent part of me, my new tattoo. I just got it done yesterday at Tall Ship Tattoo, Jeremy did it for me and it turned out wonderful and much better then I ever invisioned.
My boyfriend and mother joined me at the shop and we all had a great four and a half hours there:)
I'm so happy with it!
Check out Jeremys blog for his day to day work:)
