Coheed and Cambria

I am so excited to say I will be seeing Coheed and Cambria
for the third time. This is my favourite band and my families favourite as well. We all have dragon fly tattoos (which is one of the bands symbols) including my mother, which it was her first.
They will be performing on May 19th in Toronto at the Sound academy. If you have never listened to them, I suggest you do so!

Scar Tissue

Scar Tissue by Anthony kiedis has to be one of my favourite books. The book is an autobiography of Anthony's life going through the raw details of how his whole musical career started. Family, friends, drugs, alcohol and how it all lead the front man of the Red hot chili peppers to be just that, an amazing musician.

The Hype Machine

So I have decided since I have been writing everyday in my blog to put a topic to a day and Wednesday is music. I just wanted to tell everyone about The Hype Machine. Its this neat site that anyone can put up music and you can listen to it, a music blog if you will. The site contains great mash ups of different artist and I feel you should check it out if you're a music lover.

Red Earth Cosmetics

Red Earth Cosmetics are amazing, the whole line. I've dabbled in pretty much everything in the line and I love it. The sad thing is however they don't sell it anymore in Canada, the line was pulled last year at some point. I'm just writing this blog in honor of all the red earth cosmetics I have been using recently and how amazing it truly is. How sad we can't buy it anymore:(

Interiors

They say that many women own a lot of shoes and a lot of purses and I am personally no exception to this but I feel as though purse interiors are often over looked. I feel that they add a fun edgy touch to a purse and can be very elegant or fun loving. So next time don't over look that wonderful interior, could add a smile to your day when you look in your bag.

Purses from: Mod retro indie clothing and of course Marc Jacobs

Cheeky Money Cosmetics

I stumbled upon this site called Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics one day and I think its a neat site to check out. They have a variety of nail polish colours and I think that they have a really interesting feature. On the side bar of the website it says "Try it on" and this allows you to see the colours on rocked out hands.

Grammy Awards 2010

I was going to write a blog about the best and worst make-up in my eyes but I decided against it, lets just stick to positives!

I absolutely loved Pink's dress, it had the classy elegance and rocker edge I feel that is needed for a Grammy Award dress, wonderful.

Rihanna is such a beautiful lady. Her dress was lovely in a white feathered edgy dress that only she could pull off and her make up was fantasitc. I feel it suited the whole look very well.

I decided to end off the blog today with a lady I felt killed it last night:

Lady ga ga made an appearance on the red carpet with a breathtaking armani dress accessorized with a star. Honestly this dress and all together look blew me away, stunning.

After the red carpet she changed into a green jewled dress for her opening performace with Sir Elton John.

She ended the evening in this lovely silver dress and dashing head piece.
Overall I feel Lady Ga Ga killed it last night with her three looks and amazing opening performance.

Tiesto feat. Tegan and Sara- Feel it in my bones

So today I am going to mix music and make-up together for the sake of this blog. I want to talk about the Tiesto feat. Tegan and sara-I feel it in my bones video. This collaboration as been out since August and I have only recently found it, I know do I live in a cave or something.
First of all everyone knows that I love Tegan and Sara and I like dance music sometimes so this mix of the two is actually fantastic. The song itself it actually mixed very well but what else would you expect from Tiesto really.
I pulled some photos of the making of the video from Tegan and Sara's website, from a long time ago. So you guys could enjoy!:)

Secondly I wanted to talk about their make-up in the video, I absolutely love it. Tegan and Sara don't wear make-up that often and lets be honest, they don't really need to wear any. In the video however it looks great, I tried to find the make-up artist for this video shoot and I couldn't find anything about her/him. Probably because I am challenged technology wise and when I type something into google I just want it too be on the first page. I wanted to credit them but the best I can do is that you will be able to see their hand.

Check out the video at: Tiesto feat. Tegan and Sara- Feel it in my bones

Annette Pehrsson

I'm going to have another photography moment here, I have had a deviantart account for many years now and I love going on and looking at peoples view of the world. I have always been captivated by one photographer named Annette Pehrsson, she goes by popsongs on deviantart. There is something about her photography, very raw and breathtaking.

Alice and Wonderland

So apparently everyone has caught Alice and Wonderland fever and might I say its wonderful. The story itself has always been one of my favourites and I can't want to see Tim Burton's adaptation coming out on March 5th, 2010. When I first saw the trailer for the film I was dying in my seat, I would have loved to be apart of the make-up crew during this film; Mad hatter, Alice, Queen of hearts and the white queen are amazingly done.

Yesterday while I was at work I was reading a magazine and I caught my eye on the new limited edition palette made by urban decay which celebrates the new film coming out. It includes 16 eye shadows, two eyeliners and a travel primer potion. This is a lovely palette which shows Alice's journey through the mushroom forest. I wish that I could call it mine, but for $52 dollars American I sadly don't have the funds. I did some research on it and it has apparently sold out on Urban decay but if you want to get your little fingers on this palette you can go on a waiting list and they will tell you when they have more in stock.

OPI has also come on board the Alice and wonderland train with their new limited edition nail polishes. Including new colours such as Absolutely Alice, Mad as a Hatter, Off With Her Red! and Thanks So Muchness. I personally love the two red shades (Off with her red and thanks so muchness) and I wouldn't mind the Made as a hatter varying colour glitter on a special party occasion. I feel the Absolutely blue Alice shade however is targeting a younger audience.

My boyfriend recently just got the original mad hatter hat on his wrist tattooed and I felt that it was fitting to go into this blog!

So everyone come on the crazy journey with Alice and grab these fab finds!

Tegan and Sara

Went and saw Tegan and Sara live this week on Tuesday in Toronto at the Kool Haus. This is their first tour of Canada in two years even though they are Canadian, I am so glad that I had a chance to catch them this time around. They have always been one of my favourite bands and they did not disappoint at all, this concert was honestly one of the best I have ever been too. Their energy, funny commentary between songs and overall cute/humble auras totally made the performance wonderful.

Hearing Tegan say two 'thats what she said jokes', having her kick a drunk moron to the back, seeing Sara use a bra to wipe her nose and watering eyes after her chocking fit was definitely just a few highlights of the night and to cap it all off after Sara's chocking fit the audience singing 'Call it off' all together was amazing.

Tegan and Sara have also been doing something great during their tour, they have been giving all the money made from their poster sales to help in Haiti. Something that has impacted everyone greatly, such a sad thing. Every little bit helps however, so it was great seeing them also helping. You can also help by donating at Canada for Haiti.

If you haven't listened to Tegan and Sara's new album, Sainthood I suggest you do so and if you haven't seen a Tegan and Sara performance I suggest you do that too. They are very amazing, talented, down to earth ladies.
